Official NUST Aggregate Formula (2026 Admissions)

Explain the 10/15/75 split clearly. Show the updated 200-mark math:

  • Matriculation / O-Level Equivalence: 10% weightage
  • FSc Part-I / A-Level (or Completed FSc): 15% weightage
  • NET (NUST Entry Test) Score: 75% weightage (Highest in Pakistan)

Corrected Worked Example:

  • Student scores 1015 / 1100 in Matric โ†’ (1015/1100) ร— 10 = 9.22%
  • Student scores 445 / 505 in FSc Part-1 โ†’ (445/505) ร— 15 = 13.21%
  • Student scores 156 / 200 in NET-3 โ†’ (156/200) ร— 75 = 58.50%
  • Total Aggregate: 9.22 + 13.21 + 58.50 = 80.93% (Competitive for SEECS)

safe net score for nust cs h12

To comfortably secure admission into BS Computer Science at the main H-12 campus, aim for a NET score of 154 to 158 out of 200. This assumes an average of 90% in Matric and FSc. A score in this range will yield an aggregate safely above the 80.5% cutoff.

net 1 net 2 net 3 net 4 weightage: Which Should You Take?

NUST conducts the entry test in four sessions. They do not have different weightages; rather, NUST automatically selects your single highest score across all attempts to calculate your merit.

  • NET-1 (Novโ€“Dec): Lowest competition; easiest curve.
  • NET-2 (Febโ€“March): Ideal for board students before exam prep peaks.
  • NET-3 (Marchโ€“April): High volume; competitive pool.
  • NET-4 (Juneโ€“July): The "last chance" attempt; historically hardest curve due to gap-year students peaking.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is a safe NET score for SEECS CS?

To clear an 80.5% aggregate assuming 90% in Matric and FSc, you need a minimum raw score of 154/200 to 158/200 on the NET.

Does NUST accept FSC Part 1 marks for admission?

Yes. For regular applicants appearing in NET 1 through 4, merit is calculated strictly using FSc Part-1 (1st year) marks alongside Matric. Your FSc Part-2 result is only verified later to ensure you didn't fail the board exam (60% baseline required).

Can I use my NUST entry test score for UET or FAST?

No. NUST NET is strictly isolated to NUST campuses. FAST uses the NU-Test or standard NTS/SAT, while UET relies strictly on the ECAT.
